Swim Lessons & Programs
Safe, confident swimmers start at Hurst Aquatics
Water confidence is one of the most important skills a child can build. At Hurst Aquatics, our Learn-to-Swim program focuses on safety-first skills, small class sizes, and steady progress, all close to home at Central Aquatics Center. From first splashes with a caregiver to independent swimmers ready for the big pool at Chisholm, our lessons help families feel prepared, supported, and welcomed at every step.
Why Families Choose Hurst’s Learn-to-Swim Program
Trained instructors, proven curriculum, and a calm, kid-friendly environment
Learn-to-Swim lessons at Hurst Aquatics are designed to help children build skills and confidence at their own pace. All lessons are held at Central Aquatics Center, which features shallow, instruction-friendly water and clear sightlines for caregivers. Our team keeps lessons upbeat, supportive, and safety-focused so kids feel encouraged, not overwhelmed. Instructors are CPR/AED certified and complete Ellis & Associates Swim Lesson Training before leading classes, and every swimmer is evaluated on the first day so we can group them where they will grow best.
Find the Right Level for Your Swimmer
Three core group levels based on age and experience
We organize Learn-to-Swim into age-based groups so each swimmer works on skills that match their stage. Parent/Tot Swim brings infants and toddlers into the water with a caregiver. Pre-School Group lessons help three to five-year-olds learn basics with plenty of instructor support. Beginners Group lessons focus on school-age swimmers ready to practice strokes and swim independently. On the first day, instructors will confirm each child’s level and adjust as needed.
Parent & Tot Swim: First Splashes Together
6 months – 3 years · 1-week class · gentle, water-based adjustment
- Central Aquatics Center
Parent/Tot Swim introduces infants and toddlers to the water in a relaxed, play-based setting. A parent or guardian is required in the pool with each child, helping little swimmers feel secure while they explore new sensations and practice early safety habits with instructor guidance. Sessions focus on getting comfortable with bubbles, brief submersions, supported floats, simple kicks, and early arm movements through games and songs.
